Believing in Homenetmen’s motto of “Aroghtch Midk Aroghtch Marmni Mech”, a healthy mind in a healthy body, the athletic department of Homenetmen Massis strives to instill this lifelong goal in our youth. We believe in providing a safe atmosphere where our youth can prosper athletically in an Armenian environment.
The athletic department consists of the athletic director, athletic committee, coaches and members. Currently, the chapter includes basketball, soccer, volleyball, track and field, swimming, and ping pong teams. Our coaching staff must undergo a certification program which enables them to better train and teach our athletes the fundamentals skills of their respective sports. The chapter’s practice facilities are located at Birmingham High School, Ferrahian Holy Martyrs School Encino Campus and Granada Hills High School.
The athletes’ ages range from six years to fifty plus years. Our teams participate in annual tournaments in San Diego, Fresno, Orange County, San Francisco and other local cities. The culmination is our participation in the annual Navasartian Tournament in which athletes utilizes their year-long training to compete with other chapters in a friendly yet competitive environment.
